The Beginning

Carmen realizes the business concerns of her husband Frans are not strictly legal when her son, Boris, finds a gun in his father's car. Frans admits he's lived in fear since a drug exchange went wrong.

Unpleasant Surprises

Frans is in intensive care and Inspector Leeflang tells Carmen the police have been observing his hash-smuggling business. Steven, Frans' business partner, gets a visit from a rival gang looking for their missing drug haul.

Under Pressure

Carmen's brother Irwan reveals that, along with Frans and Steven, he stole a drug haul from a ruthless dealer Christian Schiller. Believing she's now obliged to pay the debt, Carmen reluctantly agrees to run the family 'business'.

Confrontations

Carmen pays a visit to Christian Schiller who denies all knowledge of blackmail and instead asks for a favor: if she can re-open the transport route for a consignment of drugs, he will leave her family alone.

Mutual Distrust

Carmen is forced to find a new contact at the harbor before the transport can go ahead. Andre is furious when he finds out about Schiller's stolen stash, but Irwan insists Frans was behind it all.

No Way Back

Carmen asks Schiller if they can postpone the transport, but he has debts of his own to pay and refuses, telling her that he taken something as insurance. Will Steven squeal to the police?

At the Top of the Crime

Carmen and her children agree to leave Amsterdam by faking a trip on Frans' boat while secretly planning a dash to the airport. Memories about his father's murderer come back to haunt Boris.

The Hour of Truth

Boris is able to tell his mother about the identity of his father's murderer, but Carmen doesn't know who to believe and Steven's wife reveals the truth behind the drug haul.
